Big family news -- I am related to both
Our 9th great grandparents are:
Nathaniel Merrill
BIRTH 1 MAY 1601 • Wherstead, Babergh District, Suffolk, England
DEATH 16 MAR 1655 • Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America
&
Susanna Wilterton
BIRTH 1610 • Wherstead, Suffolk, England
DEATH 25 JAN 1672 • Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay, British Colonial America
Prince Harry is my 11th cousin X1 removed via his mother's maternal line, and my mother's maternal line.
Diana and I share 10th great grandparents.
Our 10th great grandparents are:
Thomas Ford
BIRTH 1587 • Bridport, Dorset, England
DEATH 9 NOV 1676 • Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America
&
Elizabeth Charde
BIRTH 1589 • Thorncombe, Bridgeport, Dorsetshire, England
DEATH 18 APR 1643 • Windsor, Hartford, Colony of Connecticut, British Colonial America
What is super interesting in that both of these lines join together at my 3rd great grandmother Artemissa Merrill who married Solomon Bayes. Meghan & Harry are both related to me through this line, but they are not related to each other through this line.
Meghan's Merrill connection marries into the line quite a bit below where Harry joins.
Their children are my double cousins.
I do feel that I should have been invited to special family events, but I am guessing that didn't happen since our connection is on both of their non-royal lines.
This is why I search -
Cause ...
You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family you know!
