52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks 2024: Week 48 (VERY FUNNY)
In thinking about the prompt this week I wondered if we have any names in the Bramble Bush that actually mean VERY FUNNY.
I began looking on Chris' side because he really is funny.....
I found:
The name Isaac is primarily a male name of Hebrew origin
that means He Will Laugh. 1
that means He Will Laugh. 1
Chris' 3rd great grandfather on his maternal line is:
Isaac Smith
Birth 20 DEC 1788 • Grimsby, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada
Death 22 MAR 1869 • Oakland, Brant, Ontario, Canada
3rd great grandmother
Abigail McQueen
Birth 12 MAY 1792 • Port Dover, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada
Death 16 MAY 1862 • Brantford, Brant, Ontario, Canada
In the 1861 Census we find Isaac & Abigail with 2 of their sons living in Oakland, Brant, Canada West. The family's religion was recorded as Wesleyan Methodist.
His 4th great grandfather on his paternal line:
Isaac Williams
Birth 19 MAY 1802 • New York, USA
Death 19 MAR 1868 • Bayham, Elgin, Ontario, Canada
married to 4th great grandmother
Mary Claus
Birth 1806 • Bayham, Elgin, Ontario, Canada
Death 19 MAY 1879 • Bayham, Elgin, Ontario, Canada
In the 1861 Census we find Isaac & Abigail with 5 of their children living in Bayham, Elgin, Canada West. Their son & daughter in law were visiting from Warwick, Ontario. The family's religion was recorded as Baptist.
It's not surprising that Chris' X3 and X4 great grandfathers were named such a strong biblical name.
Both these family lines have long history in the church.
When Chris and I first met I was a 3rd year anthropology student, and he came from a long line of pastor's kids.
I knew the theory of evolution, and he knew the theory of creation.
We had many interesting conversations that were for the most part respectful.
He also made me laugh a lot.
It was a time that I was taking myself far too seriously.
Laughing with him (and sometimes at him) allowed me to feel joy in the world around me.
I told him I would keep him around as long as he kept me laughing.
In the more than 30 years we have been together he has kept that commitment to me.
When your ancestors pass down some of the best parts of who you are!!!
This is why I search -
Cause ...
You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family you know!
