52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks 2022: Week 48 (OVERLOOKED)
7 years ago I received my first genealogical DNA result. That first test was from Ancestry. Nothing new was added to what I already knew.
I uploaded it to GedMatch, and nothing new was added to the area I thought I was searching. A new mystery presented.
MyHeritage had a promo several years ago. I uploaded my results there. More matches, but nothing new.
This last summer I did 23&Me. The information provided was interesting, but no real new information was added.
This week Family Tree DNA advertising was all over my social media about uploading for free. I uploaded my DNA from 23&Me with the hopes of finally breaking through my father's paternal brick wall. Nope - nada.
Now I wonder -- are there any DNA sites I have overlooked that might finally break that wall down?
I am looking for more information on my paternal grandparents:
Alexander (Alex) Pellack
Born: 17 Apr 1873 Skoryky, Скорики, Ternopil's'ka Oblast, Ukraine
Died: 22 Oct 1955 Gronlid, Saskatchewan, Canada
and
Marya (Maria) (Mary) (Marinka) Maximiw
Born: 24 Dec 1875 Ukraine/Galicia/Austria - Unknown
Died: 12 Aug 1946 Gronlid, Saskatchewan, Canada
DNA confirmed my grandfather really was their son.
DNA is the key to finding out more.
Still searching !!!
This is why I search -
Cause ...
You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family you know!
