This is my space to share my quest to collect as many broken branches as I can in my fractured family tree which resembles a bramble bush more then a proper tree. As I go forward in this blogging journey I hope to share how I have searched far & wide for family - with no regard for where they come from or if I should really want them.

The Hero Returns ~ My Dad In His Uniform

 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks 2025: Week 21 (MILITARY)

This is week 2 of my blogging style switch

For the next several weeks I will post a photo and a brief description.

This new style of posting is due to CMC Arthroplasty surgery on my left thumb.

I will continue with this style until my thumb has sufficiently recovered.

~

This is one of my favourite photos from my childhood.

Dad is wearing his uniform so he just got home from work.

My brother & I are wearing our housecoats so it's morning.

Odds are very good he just got home from some extended military maneuver somewhere in the world.

During our childhood he was often gone for weeks, sometimes months, at a time.

Given my age it may have been Jamaica where he brought me a doll that he purchased from the lady he watched make it.

I loved that doll.

It joined the other international dolls my dad brought home from his many trips around the world.

Sadly my whole doll collection went missing on one of the many moves of my childhood.

When photos evoke a memory!!!

This is why I search -

Cause ...
